Virtual Power Plants

Households and businesses contribute to a local community Virtual Power Plant, limiting their consumption of traditional climate-harming fossil fuel energy.

A Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is a network of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and battery systems working together to generate and store energy from the sun.

The system is coordinated using software and communications technology to deliver services that would traditionally be performed by a conventional fossil fuel power plant and network infrastructure upgrades.

There has been extensive research conducted by industry experts, including CSIRO, Energy Networks Australia and the Australian Energy Market Operator. All have formed the opinion that the future of our energy infrastructure lies with decentralised PV and battery solutions.
